I started off my term talking about the questionable future of print journalism. My position on the issue (that journalism will thrive, but in a different form) stands. But I think it’s for different reasons.

With only a few more exams, papers and lectures standing in the way, a well-deserved break is just around the corner. College students around the country will soon be packing their bags and migrating to warmer climates for a week of sun, sand and a lot of alcohol.

As a senior in my final semester, it is only natural to reflect on the experiences that have defined the last four years of my life. I have had the privilege to be very involved on campus, learn from an exceptional faculty and build relationships that I hope will last a lifetime. My time at the University has helped shape my view of the world and how I plan on approaching it.

It is that time of year again when college students seek warmer climates. There are at least four S-words to describe the purpose of spring break in no particular order of priority: Sun, Sand, Sex and Surf. We at Student Legal Service would like to add one more S-word ... SAFETY. Most students have a great time wherever they go, but every year we learn about tragedies, emergencies and injuries suffered by spring breakers. A few commonsense precautions can prevent most problems.

The March 9 publication of the salary guide was a great idea. However, I was miffed to see that my salary was listed as more than twice the amount I was actually paid.

In this small community of Champaign-Urbana, there are already six long term care facilities, but very rarely can I find news dealing with aging. There has been too little coverage, and even a negative portrayal in media on aging.
